Should EU allow its citizens' bank data be transferred to US authorities to track down terrorist financing? Are airport body scanners an effective way to prevent attacks? What about their impact on health and privacy? MEPs debate the necessity and proportionality of anti-terrorism measures on Wednesday. On Thursday the EP will have a say on the provisional 9-month agreement signed by EU ministers on the transfer of "SWIFT" bank data to the US. A no vote would render the agreement legally void.

Dat gold ook voor swift, vvl ftw!, de yanks wilden aanvankelijk bilateraal maar dat gaat dus nu niet meer, de uitslag van vandaag geeft enige hoop.
